In the first blog tutorials you learned about creating a blog. Google's Goose taught you how to open an account with Bloggers and post a message. You must have even posted a message by now. But, if you have not, then you can learn from this tutorial the basics of blog and how to post a properly formatted message.

Type the following address in the address bar of your browser : https://www.blogger.com/start and press Enter on your keyboard.

The Blogger login page appears


1. Sign-in with your username and password.








The Dashboard page appears

2. Click on New Post.







The Post page appears

3. Type your message that you wish to post.

4. Select the message.

5. There are toolbars on the top of the post page as shown in the post page figure. If you do not see the full toolbar, then click on

These are optional instructions and should be performed only if you need to change the look of your messages.

6. To change the font style.

a. Click on

7. To change the size of your fonts.

a. Click on

8. To make any word bold.

9. To make any word italic.

10. To change the colour of the text.

11. To align the text.

a. Click on to Align Left.

b. Click on to Align Center.

c. Click on to align to Right.

d. Click on to Justify.


12. For a number list.

14. For putting blockquotes.

15. To check spellings.

16. To Insert a Photo along with your message.

a. Click on

A new page pops up


b. Click on Browse to select an image that is stored on your computer.

c. If you wish to link to an image on the net or some other website, then type the website address (URL) in the box given on the right.

d. Select Left, Right or Center to position your photo accordingly.

e. Select the image size – small, medium or large.

f. Click on the small square box if you want to use this image size and position every time.

g. If you are uploading an image for the first time, click on the small square box to accept the Terms of Service.

h. Click on Upload.


i. Click on Done.








17. To Create a Hyperlink

To make a word to be a link to any other page or website

a. Select that word and click on

A Hyperlink dialog box will appear


b. If you want that word to link to a website, then type the address of the website in the URL box and click OK.






c. If you want that word to link to your e-mail, then click on the inverted arrow of the type box – a drop-down menu will appear.

d. Click on mailto:

e. Type your e-mail address in the URL box and click OK.

Blog Tutorials 1

Finally, Google's Goose is getting ready to lay the golden eggs after a lot of quack, quack. So, switch on your computer and modem, open Internet Explorer and type the following address in the address bar of your browser : https://www.blogger.com/start and press Enter on your keyboard.

The blogger login page appears.


1. Click on the orange arrow at the bottom displaying Create Your Blog Now.

The Create a Google Account page appears.

2. Type your email address in the box provided.

3. Type a password; it can be different from the password you use to access your email.

4. Type the name that you want to use for posting messages. This name will display under the post messages as the author’s name.


5. Type the characters for Word Verification. Word Verification is case sensitive. Therefore, the characters should be typed as they appear, i.e. if the character is a capital letter, then it should be typed in capital.

6. Click on the small square box in front of I accept the Terms of Service.


7. Click on the orange arrow to Continue.


The Name your Blog page appears.

8. Type the title of the blog. This title will appear on your blog page.

9. Type the name that you want to use for your blog address. It can be same as your blog title but, it should be available. So, after typing your blog address, click on Check Availability to see whether it is available or not. If it is available, then proceed to step 11. If it is not available, then type a new name.

10. Click on the orange arrow to Continue.


The Choose a template page appears.


11. Click on the radio button, i.e. the small round button next to the name of the templates, to select a template that will be the design of your blog page. You can scroll down to see more templates.

12. Click on the orange arrow to Continue.

13. Congrats! You have created your blog.

14. Now, open another Internet Explorer window.

15. Log into your email that you used to register your blog.

16. Open the mail that you have received from Google.






17. Click on the given link to verify and activate your blog.


18. Go back to the blog window and click on the orange arrow to Start Blogging.







The Post page appears

19. This is the post page. Type whatever you want to publish.

20. Click on the Publish Post button at the bottom to publish your post message.

21. If you wish to start publishing (posting) later, click on the Sign-out link on the top-right corner of your blog page.

Blog It !

In my last post, I had written that you should have something to sell to get money. That something could be a product or service. And, that product can also be space in newspapers or blogs or websites. It is by selling space on your websites or blogs for advertising the products or services of the advertisers that you earn money. But, before you can sell space, you should have it. You should either have a website or a blog.

A blog is an acronym of “web log”. It is a sort of website but with a few limitations. It is like a rented apartment rather than an owned house. A blog, i.e. web log, is just what the words mean. It is a log on the web – not a wooden log obtained by felling trees in the forest, but a register or book for keeping records or to put it simply, it is a diary – an electronic diary.

If you write a diary, then writing in an electronic diary will not be difficult. The only difference between this electronic diary on the web and the paper diary is that you can keep away people from reading your paper diary but this electronic diary on the web called blog is open for the whole wide world to read and also comment on what you write. That is what a blog is all about.

Your blog can be a personal diary of your day to day chore or weekly events. It can also be about some specific topic that interests you. It can be about your office gossips, your work, about your school or college days, your kids. Or, something about clothes, foods, fashion, travel & tours, love & romance, movies & music, sports & games, diet & exercise, religion & rituals, wine, women or wealth. Just about anything that you can write about. But, it has to be interesting if you want people to visit your blog, read it and create wealth for you.

So, put on your thinking caps and be ready with an interesting topic to blog it when we start the blog creation tutorials next week.

Money Rain

The monsoon has arrived in India. It is raining. But, as usual, it is raining water. Though, a precious commodity that has made many a millionaires who are selling it, water is still for drinking & cleaning for the common man. If only it had rained money flooding the streets – as it did a few days ago in Indonesia when Tung Desem Waringin, an author, showered money from a helicopter on a city near Jakarta to promote his new book – this blog would have been immaterial.

But, as the heavens don’t shower us with money, we have to earn it. And, there are only two ways of earning money notwithstanding all the tall claims of minting money made by tall financial wizards or even by people distributing fliers asking you to work from home and become millionaires while they themselves are out on the streets distributing the fliers come rain or shine. Remember, there are only TWO ways of earning money. One way of earning money is by sheer hard work. The other way is by sleeping around. That’s the fundamental truth; the ground reality that money does not rain from the skies. Take your pick.

These two ways of earning money have been there since time immemorial. It is not something new. It is not a great discovery. It’s just that you must have not realized it until now. Hard work is another reason why money is frequently called “hard cash”.

Money can be obtained in exchange for something, i.e. you should have something to sell. That something could be a product or a service.

Any product that you want to sell should be good and appealing for which you have to work hard – to manufacture the product as well as to market the product. You also have to work hard to provide efficient service to your clients. In any case, it is hard work all the way. The easy avenue is down the sleaze street.

Money Train

Chris Carpenter’s crass course, viz. Google Cash, is designed for the western world. It doesn’t take into consideration the youth of India. Or, for that matter any of the Third World countries. Brought up in penury without much education, the people of these countries don’t understand much of what is taught in the so-called easy money manual.

This blog will endeavour – sorry, I will try to be as simple as possible. So, this blog will try to explain in a very simple language all that there is to be known for earning money easily.

Now, you may be saying that this is just another trash site like the many others that promise to make you rich overnight. If that’s how you feel, then just visit the other sites claiming to make you rich and check out the difference. Visit at least a dozen sites before you return to this blog. You may get an idea or two about something from some of these sites, but not the whole picture. You will never get to know what exactly is to be done to get the money pouring into your bank account.

All the sites that promise to make you rich, will talk about how some guy from somewhere in Guyana became a millionaire by quitting his 9-5 job in a big, reputed company. How a man from Manhattan makes lots money by writing Adwords. How a housewife from Houston makes more money working from her house than her husband who’s an account executive in a finance company. As far as these sites are concerned, you are justified in calling them trash and send their contents directly to the recycle bin.

As said in the beginning of this post, Google Cash is for the western world. But, for the uneducated masses of India it is nothing more than trash. Therefore, this blog is here so that the small town guys & gals of India who are eager to jump onto the bandwagon of Google Cash would know that they can do so easily from the platform of Google's Goose.

So, reserve your seats and get ready to board the money train to Google Gaon.
